Score |
| Following on from an impressive win against Burton and a disappointing defeat at Tamworth the U14s welcomed Warley to Watton Lane. A strong wind made conditions difficult. At the start there was nothing between the teams, after ten minutes Old Salts took control with some solid work from the forwards and inventive play from the backs. By half time the score was 19-0 in Old Salts favour thanks to tries from Olly Lenton-Breeden, James Morris and Ben Spencer plus a couple of conversions from Zac Mann. The second half continued in the same vein with James Morris completing his hat trick and Jake Sorrell adding his name to the score sheet, all three tries being converted giving Old Salts a commanding 40 point lead. Lack of concentration coupled with some strange refereeing decisions lead to a late consolation try for Warley, which they failed to convert. The final score of 40-5 was a fair reflection of a good team performance. | 40-5 |
